Cases of COVID-19 have risen in Michigan in the last 24 hours.
The state now has 334 confirmed cases, along with 3 deaths.
The deaths include an 81 year old woman from the Detroit area, another Detroit area man in his 50’s and an Oakland County woman, also in her 50’s.
The man and woman in there 50’s, had ongoing health concerns when they passed.
The state had incorrectly reported 336 cases, but one case was pulled from the data, and another test was inconclusive, and was sent to the CDC for additional testing.
The state is now receiving lab results from commercial labs, which is seen as part of the spike in cases.
Michigan’s Chief Health Officer Joneigh Khaldun said “We are pleased to announce that we are now able to provide testing results from hospitals and other entities outside of our state laboratory.
We knew there were additional people in Michigan with COVID-19 that had not yet been tested.
This emphasizes the need to continue to practice of social distancing and other community mitigation practices to help slow the spread of this disease.”
