Michigan Pizza Huts Not Included in Wave of Closings

The Houghton Pizza Hut is not on a list of 300 locations across the nation that are scheduled to be closed.

News of the shutdowns broke earlier this week.

All of the restaurants that will be closing are owned by NPC International, which is the largest franchisee of Pizza Huts in the nation. NPC recently filed for bankruptcy, citing financial losses from the COVID-19 pandemic, on top of a billion dollar debt the company had already run up.

A search of NPC’s website revealed the company owns no Pizza Hut restaurants anywhere in Michigan.
