Michigan Declares ‘Snowplow Driver Appreciation Day’

There are few places in the country that know that value of snowplow drivers better than the Copper Country.

To recognize the hard work and long hours put in by these folks, State Representative Greg Markkanen introduced a resolution honoring Michigan’s snowplow drivers.

“In the U.P and across the state, we depend on snowplow drivers to make our roadways safer,” said Markkanen. “Snowplow drivers work long hours for us to travel, and their dedication and diligence will be recognized with this resolution.”

It’s a bit of a belated celebration, as the day dedicated for Snowplow Driver Appreciation Day was March 20, 2019 but the resolution did pass overwhelmingly in the Michigan House of Representatives.
