Weather is delaying the opening of roadside parks operated by the Michigan Department of Transportation in the Copper Country.
Most of MDOT’s seasonal roadside parks will open today, although running water may not yet be turned on.
Parks in the Copper Country probably won’t be unlocked until mid-May. They include Tioga Creek, Canyon Falls and Baraga Cliffs along US-41 in Baraga County, and the parks along M-26 between Eagle River and Copper Harbor in Keweenaw County.
Other roadside parks with delayed openings in the U.P. include those along M-28 west of Munising in Alger County.
