December 27, 2018 – The Michigan Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery revoked the medical license of Jonathan Gale Robertson and fined the licensee $100,000 at its December 6, 2018 meeting for having sexual contact with patients.
The Dept. of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) initially served an order summarily suspending the medical license of Robertson for allegations of criminal sexual conduct.
Robertson failed to respond to LARA’s initial order which the department treated as an admission of the allegations in the administrative complaint.
The specific allegations in the administrative complaint include:
- Unprofessional conduct with a patient that is sexual or can reasonably be interpreted as sexual.
- Offering to provide practice-related services, such as drugs, in exchange for sexual favors.
- Negligence, incompetence and lack of good moral character.
The ultimate determination on Roberton’s license was made by the Disciplinary Subcommittee (DSC) of the Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery.
The revocation of Robertson’s license is effective as of December 18, 2018.
The licensee may appeal the decision of the DSC with the Michigan Court of Appeals.
