Markkanen launches Outstanding Educator Award

Rep. Greg Markkanen, of Hancock, recently launched the Outstanding Educator Award program. Students, parents, and school faculty of the 110th district in the Upper Peninsula are encouraged to nominate local educators who have made a meaningful impact on their community.

Markkanen will select three educators from the district and nominations for the 2018-2019 school year will be accepted through May 1, awarding winners on May 24.

“Teaching is a passion I share with many of my friends and colleagues,” Markkanen said. “There are so many educators I have worked with over the years who are deserving of the highest praise. I hope to recognize their impeccable impact on our community.”

Nominations can be submitted by following the “Outstanding Educator Award” tab at the top of the page at RepMarkkanen.com.
