Those calling for an end to gun violence in schools will be gathering Saturday for a planned march across the Portage Lake Lift Bridge.
The Keweenaw March for Our Lives is meant to show support for changing gun laws to protect students and schools.
This event is taking place in solidarity with the March for Our Lives taking place in Washington DC.
Marchers will gather just before noon below the Bridge on the west side near the old Aspirus building next to Roy’s.
Organizers say March For Our Lives is created, inspired, and led by students across the country who are acting to stop the epidemic of school shootings.
Students, teachers, families, and allies are marching across the nation to demand better gun regulations.
An average of 23 children are shot every day, the third leading cause of death for American children.
