Man Dies in L’Anse House Fire

A man is dead following a house fire in L’Anse this morning. 

L’Anse Fire Department chief Mike Bianco said the alarm was raised around 9:30. They arrived at 422 South Fourth Street to find the front portion of the home engulfed in flames. 

Firefighters and first responders were able to pull the victim from the building, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The victim’s name will be released once family members have been notified.

An investigation will begin to determine the cause of the blaze.
