Work to upgrade the traffic signals will begin this week at several intersections in Houghton.
The Michigan Department of Transportation will be working on the lights at M-26 and Sharon Avenue, Brickyard Lane and Green Acres Road, as well as US-41 at MacInnes Drive and at Isle Royale Street.
Upgrades on the signal control systems will be performed Tuesday through Thursday.
While being worked on, each intersection will be controlled with a four-way stop.
Work at each location is expected to take less than a day.
After the upgrades, the stop signs will be removed and the traffic signals will return to full operation.
