Many hands make light work, and that was the result of the recent Make A Difference Day.
Houghton City Manager Eric Waara said almost 120 volunteers from Michigan Tech came out to work with the city’s Department of Public Works and members of the Beautification Committee on several projects around town.
They planted 3,000 tulip bulbs, built new gardens, installed shoreline protection and cleaned out parks.
Waara said they had a larger turnout this year than last year and hopes that trend continues because the effort really does make a difference.
