Organizers of the Houghton County Fair are calling the 4-day event a success.
According to information posted on the Fair’s Facebook page, they had 16 youth participate in the Youth Talent Show and 1300 exhibits in the youth department.
Area youth also contributed to raising livestock for the shows and auction.
Another 750 still exhibits plus livestock were contributed by adults.
Thirty seven junior market livestock animals were auctioned for over $42,000.
The Grand Champion steer, lamb, and hog were all purchased by Pat’s Foods and Festival Foods.
The fair is made possible by the efforts of the roughly 125 volunteers helping out.
