Lost Hiker, Child Located Quickly in Pilgrim Forest

A lost hiker and a 6-year-old child were quickly located after they were reported missing in Portage Township Sunday.

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department was called out at 6:00 to the Pilgrim Community Forest Hiking Trail.

Superior Search and Rescue also joined the search, which ended when both the hiker and child were located an hour later.

No injuries were reported.
