The sole Democratic candidate for Michigan’s First Congressional District seat has challenged the incumbent Republican to a series of debates.
Dr. Bob Lorinser has proposed a series of three televised appearances, to take place before October 1st.
In a letter to Representative Jack Bergman, Lorinser said “the honor of running to represent Northern Michigan and the UP comes with the responsibility to inform voters and participate in a free exchange of ideas.”
He asked for a response from the Bergman campaign by July 4th.
Both Lorinser and Bergman are running unopposed for their parties’ nominations in the August primary.
