Logging Truck Loses Part Of Its Load

A logging truck lost its load on the roadway Friday evening in Elm River Township.  The Houghton County Sheriff’s Department says they received a call around 8:45pm about a large pile of logs blocking Pike Lake Road near the Clear Lake Access Road.

Authorities say a 32-year-old Escanaba man was driving his logging truck south on Pike Lake Road when his rear pup trailer logs came loose and spilled onto the roadway.  The driver continued for a short while when he noticed his rear pup trailer was mostly empty.  He returned to the scene and reloaded the spilled logs back onto the pup trailer.

He was cited for having an unsecured load that spilled on a roadway.

The Houghton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Houghton County Road Commission.
