Local WWII Veteran Remains Are Returning Home and Will Be Laid To Rest

The remains of Lowell Earl Valley, Fireman Second Class, United States Navy, will be returned to Ontonagon, Michigan, for burial on July 14, 2018. Lowell Earl Valley was killed in action on December 7, 1941 serving aboard the USS Oklahoma which was sunk during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Full military honors will be performed by the United States Navy at the Holy Family Cemetery, Ontonagon, MI

Funeral Event Time Schedule:

10:30AM – 11:00AM EST Private Family Viewing Holy Family Catholic Church
11:00AM – 1:00PM EST Public Visitation / Viewing Holy Family Catholic Church
1:00PM – 1:45PM EST Funeral Services Holy Family Catholic Church
2:45PM EST Full Military Rites Burial Holy Family Cemetery

The general public that would like to attend the visitation and or funeral services are asked to park at the Ontonagon High School and shuttle buses will be provided to bring you to and from the Holy Family Catholic Church. Shuttle buses will also be available to take you from the Holy Family Catholic Church to the Cemetery for the burial and will return to the high school after completion.

*** There will be limited parking at the Holy Family Catholic Church. The parking lot at the church will be blocked off for family and funeral detail personnel only.
