Finlandia University is rolling out the blue carpet for prospective local students on July 26 and August 7 for Blue Carpet Days.
“The purpose of a Blue Carpet Day is to show students what Finlandia can offer them,” said Collin Saint-Onge, Director of Admissions. “Students will be able to benefit from this day in a number of ways. We’ll be able to answer all of their questions and concerns about going to college. They can also complete the entire admissions process, from application to decision, in just a few hours.”
Students will be given a tour of the university and can talk with admissions officers and the financial aid team. They can also apply for admission to Finlandia at the event. Students who bring a copy of their official high school and/or college transcripts can receive an admissions decision before they leave. Students who have already completed the FAFSA could also see an accurate financial aid projection. Those who haven’t will be invited to complete it with the help of a financial aid member. Students will need to bring the previous year’s income tax return and 2016 income information for themselves and their parent(s).
Another benefit is that any student who attends Blue Carpet Day and later commits to Finlandia will automatically receive a $250 yearly renewable scholarship to Finlandia.
Blue Carpet Day will be at the Jutila Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 26 and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on August 7. The event is open to any interested student and their family. Students are encouraged to RSVP at finlandia.edu/admissions.
