Local Leaders Meet In Lansing To Discuss Flood Recovery Funding

A group of local leaders are heading to Lansing today to discuss funding for road repairs as the flood recovery effort continues.

Houghton City Manager Eric Waara said he was invited to take part in the effort along with Houghton County Road Engineer Kevin Harju and others.

The group will fly from the Houghton County Memorial Airport to Lansing in a plane provided by the state so they can meet with legislators today.

Waara said they will meet with a Senate delegation about options for paying the required local match for flood relief funds.
