Local Arts Organizations to Benefit from State Grants

A number of local arts organizations will get support for activities next year from the Michigan Arts and Culture Council.

Grants announced recently include…
• $16,250 for the Calumet Theatre,
• Two grants of $16,250 and $50,000 for the Copper Country Community Arts Council,
• $11,250 for the Copper Country Suzuki Association,
• $7,872 for Directions Unlimited,
• $24,000 for Michigan Tech’s Rozsa Center,
• $16,250 for the Pine Mountain Music Festival,
• Two grants of $16,470 and $12,100 for Real People Media,
• $24,000 to the Friends of the Porcupine Mountains State Park, to support the Porcupine Mountains Music Festival.

Money will be used to assist with performances and music education programs.
