Little Brothers Seeks Easter Dinner Help

Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly is asking for help to produce and deliver Easter dinners to seniors in the community who would otherwise be alone on the holiday.

Executive Director Cathy Kass-Aten says volunteers are needed that Sunday…

Kitchen help, which is at 8:00 in the morning at most sites, and then drivers, to deliver meals.

In the past, delivery drivers have been asked to spend some time with the seniors they visit. With COVID-19 still a concern, that’s been scaled back…

So, it more of a stop, kind of a wellness, “how are you doing, here’s your meal,” but it is not, really, an in-house, one-on-one visit.

The traditional in-house dining option is still not being offered because of COVID-19 issues.

Food donations are also needed, starting with the main course…

We’re looking for any size ham, preferably bone-in, but we will take any kind of fresh ham. Candy in large quantities, because we do a special Easter basket for everybody.

If you’d like to help, or if you wish to have a meal delivered, call the Little Brothers office in Hancock at 482-6944, or register at their website. Meals are delivered at no cost to those who are age 60 and older.

Financial contributions may be mailed to or dropped off at the Little Brothers office at 527 Hancock Street in Hancock, or made through their website.
