Lights Of Love Donations Being Accepted

Every year, Portage Health Auxiliary decorates and lights a Christmas tree “In Honor of those still with us”, and “In memory of those who have gone before us”.

Donations to Lights of Love go into a healthcare scholarship fund.  Every year, several students from Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw, and Ontonagon Counties receive a scholarship from this fund to help them realize their dreams of working in the health field.

A donation of $5.00 or more for each name reserves a light in honor of, or to memorialize, a loved one, a friend, an organization.  All names will be displayed in the lobby of U P Health System – Portage, throughout the holiday season.

In order for your name(s) to be displayed, donations must be received no later than Friday, November 16, 2018. Donation forms can be picked up at The Guilded Rose Gift Shop, located in the lobby of U P Health System-Portage. You can also mail your donation to Portage Health Auxiliary, c/o The Guilded Rose Gift Shop, U P Health System-Portage, 500 Campus Drive, Hancock, MI, 49930.

On Thursday, December 6, at 10:30 a.m., names will be read, music performed, and refreshments served at U P Health System-Portage.

The Portage Health Auxiliary is a non-profit organization, whose mission is to serve the health and well-being of elderly and youth causes in Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw and Ontonagon Counties.
