The Portage Lake District Library hosted the Copper Country League of Women Voters as they celebrated their 100th birthday, along with the 100th anniversary of the passing of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote.
Cake and other activities such as voter registration and absentee ballots were on hand.
President Barry Fink, said even though the 19th Amendment was passed 100 years ago, the struggle for women in politics has gone on over several generations, with more work to do.
Climate change, education and reproductive rights, remain issues the League continues to fight for.
