Laurium Village Manager Resigns

Diana Lewitzke

Laurium is again looking for a new village manager. After just four months on the job, Diana Lewitzke resigned on Monday.

Lewitzke was Laurium’s first manager. The village had upgraded the position following the retirement of longtime village administrator Ed Vertin. She had no previous governmental experience, but had worked in the aerospace and the defense industries, and as a tax preparer.

Last night, the Laurium village council appointed village clerk Patricia Golus to fill the role on an interim basis.
