Laurium to Proceed with Paving Projects

The Village of Laurium will proceed with a repaving project on Old Colony Road next summer. The village council voted last night to accept a state grant to cover 50 percent of the $150,000 cost.

A side project will also provide some new pavement on First Street. The village will cover the entire $325,000 cost of that, using a loan from USDA Rural Development, and pay it off with funds from the road budget.

The council set trick or treat hours between 5:00 and 8:00 on Halloween evening.
