Laurium Man Jailed After Police Chase

Updated to include identity and result of arraignment.

A 29-year-old Laurium man faces arraignment today after leading police on a chase late Friday night.

A Houghton County Sheriff’s deputy tried to pull the Jordan Michael Gervais over on U-S 41 in Calumet Township. Gervais allegedly took off… and raced through Laurium… with the deputy in pursuit, with help from State Police troopers and the Laurium Police Department. The suspect finally stopped in Florida location.

Gervais was arraigned this morning in 97th District Court on a two-year felony charge of Fourth Degree Fleeing a Police Officer, along with a misdemeanor charge of driving without a valid license. Bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety, which was not immediately posted. He continues to be held in the Houghton County Jail.
