Since last Thursday, there are 12 new positive COVID-19 cases in Houghton County, with three new probable cases, and the 1st COVID-19 related death this past weekend.
This from the Western Upper Peninsula Health Department.
Gogebic County has two new positive cases, with seven recoveries.
Ontonagon County has two recoveries.
Houghton County also identified an exposure site this past weekend.
The Theta Tau Beta Chapter on Fairview Street in Houghton, hosted gatherings on August 24th and 25th, where a person who had the virus attended.
Investigations and contact tracing are ongoing.
