Houghton, Michigan (April 19, 2018) — Mom Prom Keweenaw is holding its fourth annual adoption fundraiser on May 11th in Houghton. This event has established a reputation for being one of the don’t-miss evenings of the year.
“Mom Prom Keweenaw is truly a grassroots organization. The first event in 2015 was put together by a group of friends as the Rasner family was preparing for the homecoming of their daughter. This year two families will receive funds from the event. There’s nothing like it in the area. It’s such a positive and inspiring night,” said Sara Trinklein, of the Mom Prom Keweenaw planning committee.
All women ages 21 and older are encouraged to attend — not just moms. This year’s theme is Dancing Queen and disco-inspired attire is welcome. The evening at the Magnuson Franklin Square Inn will include dancing, food, two drink tickets, a silent auction and a few surprises. A cash bar will also be available. Tickets are on sale now through May 1st for $45 at eventbrite.com. The event is expected to sell out.
“Like many of you, I look forward to a glamorous night of dancing, fine food and memory-making with many of my dearest gals. However, to our family, and to a growing number of other local adoptive parents, Mom Prom has come to mean so much more,” said Amanda Rasner of the Mom Prom Keweenaw planning committee.
