L’Anse Township To Vote On Wind Turbines

Voters in L’Anse Township will be asked to decide the fate of a zoning ordinance referendum that will pave the way for a wind turbine project.

The amendment is regarding wind energy conservation systems and is on the May 7th ballot.

The Friends of the Huron Mountains and the KBIC Natural Resources Department will co-host a meeting about the proposed Summit Lake Wind Project on Wednesday.

There will be a 3-D interactive map that enables participants to view the project from different locations, and a scale model of a turbine.

The presenters will also discuss the effects the project might have on wildlife and the environment.

The meeting will be held at the Zeba Community Hall in L’Anse starting at 6pm.
