L’Anse Seeks Village Council Member

L’Anse is looking for a new member of the village council.

Councilor Kerri Sikkila recently stepped down, after accepting a new job that limited her ability to attend meetings. Anyone interested in applying should contact the village office as quickly as possible.

The term expires at the end of 2024.

At this week’s village council meeting, officials announced that this year’s Light Up Baraga County festival will take place December 9th. Plans are not yet complete, but the event is expected to include a Christmas parade, and an opportunity for kids to visit with Santa at the American Legion Hall.

Village crew have begun the process of putting up this year’s Christmas decorations.
