L’Anse is bringing back its Old Timers Hockey Tournament.
The L’Anse Winter Classic will be played March 4th and 5th, and will be a fundraiser for Meadowbrook Arena.
The last installment of the tournament was played in 2015.
It will be sponsored by the Baraga County Next Gen Team, which has also taken over much of the operation of the Keweenaw Bay Classic Fishing Tournament.
At last night’s meeting, the L’Anse village council approved an alcohol license for the event.
Council members also approved the latest payment for the ongoing sewer improvement project, and agreed to purchase and install a new generator to keep lift station two operating in the event of a power failure.
