L’Anse Moves to Accept Paving, Industrial Park Grants

The village of L’Anse is moving ahead toward a couple of potential grants.

At last night’s meeting, the council took the next step toward bringing in money from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation to help develop the new industrial park.

Village Manager Bob LaFave said the grant will extend utilities into the park…

“That will give everything from village electricity, water, sewer and fiber from UP.net, and, of course, the SEMCO natural gas. It makes it just that much better of a plum site.”

The council also approved a resolution accepting $245,000 from the state that will go toward repaving L’Anse Avenue and Baraga Avenue. The project should be completed this coming spring.
