L’Anse Council OK’s New Marina Dock

The L’Anse Marina will get a new floating dock – but not until late next summer.

At last night’s meeting, village council members accepted a $97,423 bid from Floatation Docking Systems of Cedarville to build the structure, which will replace the nearly 30-year-old dock presently in place.

Half of the cost will be covered by a state grant.

Because of backlogs and supply issues, the expected installation date will be next September.

Village officials also encouraged residents to fill out the recreation survey that’s being undertaken by the village, L’Anse Township and Baraga County. Council member Kristina Waara said every completed survey helps the cause…

We have to have a certain amount in order to be eligible for certain grants we apply for.

The deadline for submitting responses has been extended to October 15. Access the survey here.
