Keweenaw Bay Indian Community in partnership with the Michigan Health Endowment Fund, Michigan Tech, and Western U.P. Planning & Development Region will be hosting the first workshop in a summer event series for promoting inter-generational learning and access to healthy foods and medicines.
Preparing for Foraging Foods & Harvesting Medicines is a free event this Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
All are welcome to attend, and the workshop includes lunch. The workshops feature cultural teachings, ojibwamowin, honorable harvesting, Ojibwa medicines, and a guided walk through the woodlands.
The event will start at the KBIC Natural Resources Department in L’Anse with registration beginning at 9:30am.
