Lake Linden Woman Arraigned On Domestic Violence Charge

A Lake Linden woman has been arraigned for allegedly stabbing a man earlier this week.

25 year-old Melanie Niemi was arraigned Wednesday in 97th District Court on one count of domestic violence, a misdemeanor punishable by 93-days in jail.

Her bond was set at 10 percent of $5,000.

Houghton County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a residence in Portage Township Tuesday morning.

The victim, a 32 year-old man, was treated at the scene for his injuries.

Niemi is scheduled to appear in court on April 23rd.
