This year, you can enjoy the holiday festivities knowing you’re giving the gift of an education to a local high school graduate.
The Keweenaw Young Professionals and the Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance will be hosting their 4th annual Keweenaw Holiday Hoopla this Wednesday at the Continental Fire Company.
KYP Board President Angela Hoffman said the gathering will give young professionals a chance to come together for an evening of networking and fun. “There’s going to be a lot food. We’re going to have our famous, as we like to say, photo booth decked out for the holidays so you can get some good holiday pics and just have a good time networking with community folks of all different ages, all different professions,” said Hoffman.
KEDA will have a silent auction to raise money for their High School Skilled Trades Scholarship program. Hoffman said, “Since 2013, KEDA has actually awarded 52 scholarships and that’s totaling over $30,000 that actually supports some of our local high school students to pursue the skilled trades in industrial, construction, or another skilled services training program.
Tickets are $30 and guests are encouraged to pre-register through the Keweenaw Young Professionals’ website.
