Little Brothers- Friends Of The Elderly Urges Residents To Reach Out To Seniors

“Where service to the elderly begins by being a friend.”

That’s the motto of Little Brothers- Friends of the Elderly, and in a press release sent to Keweenaw Report, they are asking Copper Country residents to remember the most vulnerable members of the community, the elderly, during the COVID-19 shutdown.

While government mandates have suspended visitations to hospitals and nursing homes, Little Brothers urges residents that a handwritten note, phone call or a safely handled bag of groceries can lift the spirits of those who are temporarily isolated as we battle the COVID-19 virus.

Mental and physical health can be adversely affected by loneliness.

When you reach out to an elderly resident, it not only lifts their spirit, but can do wonders for your spirit as well.
