The Portage Lake District Library and the Copper Country Great Start Collaborative invite children and their families to drop in anytime for a Story Walk on Tuesday, August 28, between 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
The Story Walk will begin at the Lakeshore Dr. entrance to the Downtown Houghton Farmer’s Market located in the Suomi parking lot. From there participants will enjoy a story displayed page by page on stakes as they walk around the Market. Kids will continue reading the story as they walk down the sidewalk on Huron St. to the Portage Lake District Library.
Kids will be reading Rah, Rah Radishes! A Vegetable Chant by April Pulley Sayre as they progress along the story path. At the library, kids will make an art project using vegetables and enjoy healthy refreshments.
