Trail grooming is on hold for trails maintained by the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club.
In a Facebook post, club officials said recent rain and icy conditions have forced them to suspend their operations, to prevent equipment damage and for operator safety. They urge caution when riding, because of lots of water and other obstacles.
Similarly challenging conditions are being reported across the region.
Cooler temperatures and chance of up to three inches of snow tomorrow could start to improve conditions later this week.
