Keweenaw Mountain Lodge to implement Guest Chef Program

The following press release was issued by the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge:

Copper Harbor, Michigan
Keweenaw Mountain Lodge Head Chef Patrick of Mixis will begin to work with guest chefs at the Lodge this month.

Mixis, a native of Kalamazoo and owner of the Feed the World Cafe, specializes in global cuisine, plant-based cooking, and molecular gastronomy. His primary goal at the Lodge is to combine classic
recipes with innovative, modern cooking techniques, while providing exceptional new options for a variety of dietary lifestyles.

By inviting guest chefs to feature their talents in the Keweenaw, Mixis hopes to experiment with new flavors, textures, and recipes, while offering the community the opportunity to sample the work of talented chefs from around the country.

Each chef will spend a week at the Lodge. During their stay, the chef will work with kitchen staff on a special menu that features their favorite dishes, while also spending time getting to know the Keweenaw Peninsula and interacting with Lodge guests.

At the end of June, the Lodge will welcome Chef Widad Mueller. Chef Mueller specializes in cuisine from her native Lebanon, which celebrates fresh produce, mild spices, and savory meat dishes. She will start in the Lodge kitchen on June 26th.
