Keweenaw Gold Fundraiser Set For May 16th

Houghton, Michigan — Keweenaw Community Foundation (KCF) is currently planning their annual Keweenaw Goldfundraiser. It will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Bonfire Steakhouse & Grill on the 7th floor of the Magnuson Hotel in Houghton. This year’s theme is “Catch the Energy, Feel the Potential” inspired by KCF’s Energy Initiative.

There will be multiple awards presented at this year’s event including: The Volunteer of the Year for an individual who has made numerous volunteer efforts to make our community a better place; The Community Impact Award for a community member who has made a significant impact in the area this past year. The Martha and Floyd Heart & Hands Society will also be awarding someone who has given of him or herself in the service of peace, justice or the environment in our local community. A link to their nomination form can be found on the KCF website at keweenawcommunityfoundation.org/whats-going-on/events/keweenaw-gold-2018/.  You can also learn more about the Heart & Hands Society and their previous awardees on their website at heartandhandssociety.org.

It is always a special evening with many community members from across the Keweenaw coming together to celebrate, enjoy good food and company, and help raise funds for our community foundation.

All proceeds raised during this event will go towards promoting the foundation’s mission to inspire giving that invests in our community’s quality of life.
