Keweenaw County Election Results Recap

In Keweenaw County, District 5 Commissioner Randy Eckloff was narrowly defeated in the Democrat primary by Sandra Gayk–32 votes to 30. There is no Republican challenger so Gayk will win the seat on the Board of Commissioners in November.

Proposals passing include the Courthouse—Jail Building and Grounds Millage Renewal, the Eagle Harbor Operating Millage, the Grant Township Operating, Fire and School Operating Millages, as well as the Sherman Township Operating Millage.

The Sherman Township Fire Millage failed after the vote ended in a tie, 18 to 18.

Sherman Township residents also voted against the Lake Linden-Hubbell Schools Bond Proposal, but the proposal did pass.
