The Keweenaw Outdoor Recreation Coalition has scheduled its annual Keweenaw Clean-Up this Saturday. Volunteers will pick up trash on roads, trails, and beaches throughout Keweenaw County.
If you’d like to help, meet at the Mariner North in Copper Harbor Saturday between 8:45 and 11:00 for an assignment. Work will continue until 1:00. Volunteers are then invited to a cookout at Grant Township Park, with free food and prizes.
Advance registration is not required, but will help organizers plan the day. Sign up at the event’s Facebook page.
Last year’s inaugural event brought out 40 volunteers, who picked up a ton of trash.
