Keweenaw Chamber Of Commerce Open House At Eagle River Lighthouse

Houghton, Michigan, – The Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce is pleased to annouce a Business Open House in Eagle River Wednesday, September 26th from 5:30-7:30. Come and get an inside glimpse into 3 of Eagle River’s most beautiful properties. Enjoy a self-guided walking tour of Eagle River Lighthouse (1855), Big House (originally German Hotel and Keweenaw County’s first jail, 1846), Crestview Cabin (1940) and drinks and food at 1860 (originally the German Beer Saloon, 1860).

The properties are managed by Edochi, LLC, which is owned by Jan Cole and her brother Edward (Bud). “Edochi was born out of a desire to preserve important historic buildings while thoughtfully adapting them to modern uses like guest accommodations. With my background in design and building renovation and my brother Bud’s background leading top global brands, it made sense to put our collective experience to work in the Keweenaw”, Jan explains.

“This is a great opportunity to get a glimpse into beautifully restored buildings with some really interesting history; and, at least for me, appease curiousity.” says Whitney Warstler, Director of the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce.

This event is free and open to the public.
