Pre-registration is open for Michigan Tech alumni and friends for a 5K run/walk on the Michigan Tech Trails during the annual Alumni Reunion Weekend.
The cost is $15 for pre-registered participants, which can be done online at mtu.edu/alumni/kac5k or by calling 906-487-2400.
All proceeds support the Keweenaw Alumni and Friends Chapter Scholarship that awards a scholarship each year to a local student attending Michigan Tech and the Michigan Tech Cross Country Team.
The event takes place Saturday, August 4th with registration at 7:30 a.m. at the Tech Trails trailhead, across from Sherman Field.
The walk begins at 8:30 a.m. with the run at 9 a.m.
New this year is the Kids Fun Run. The free 100 meter dash for children ages six and under will take place while final race results are calculated.
Awards for the 5K run/walk will be presented at 10 a.m.
