KEDA Recognized With Educational Leadership Award

The Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance is being recognized for their contribution to local education.

KEDA was presented with the Area-Wide Educational Leadership Award at the Copper Country Association of School Boards’ awards dinner on Wednesday.

KEDA has provided Skilled Trades Scholarships to a local senior from every high school in the amount of $500 every year since 2013.

This year’s fundraising event for their scholarships was so successful, KEDA is able to give out $1,000 scholarships to all local high schools.

KEDA was also instrumental in supporting Career and Technical Education programs in the Copper Country.

Additional awards were presented for Student Leadership…Outstanding Education Employees, and School Service.
