Hancock resident Justin Kasieta has announced his candidacy for the Houghton County Clerk/Register of Deeds position.
The small business owner currently serves Houghton County through Representative Greg Markkanen’s office.
In the past, he has successfully managed a seven-county state legislative campaign.
Mr. Kasieta believes his unique experience as a young professional prepares him for the role he is seeking.
He intends to reach the people, using social media and increased digital use, and bringing his office directly to the people.
Election security and transparency will be big parts of his platform.
Making sure all residents become more involved in the political process is also a goal.
