You’re invited to get up, get out and get walking this Labor Day for the 13th annual UP Health System – Portage Labor Day Bridge Walk.
Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. Monday at the Kestner Waterfront Park in Houghton, with the five-mile walk beginning at 8:30 a.m.
U.P. Health System’s Health and Fitness Manager Angela Luskin says you don’t need to head to Mackinac to enjoy a nice bridge walk on Labor Day.
The walk is free, and sponsored by the city of Hancock, city of Houghton, UP Health System – Portage and Michigan’s Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness.
Walkers across the state are doing similar events, inspired by the annual Labor Day five-mile walk over the Mackinac Bridge.
