Ishpeming Woman Rescued from Fiery Crash

An Ishpeming woman is fortunate to be alive, after she crashed her 2011 Mazda into a rock while driving along County Road 476 in Marquette County’s Tilden Township Saturday night.

The car caught fire, and the 47-year-old was trapped inside.

State police troopers from the Negaunee post tell us a 57-year-old Negaunee man happened upon the scene, and pulled the woman to safety.

She suffered minor injuries, which were treated at the scene.

Names have not been released.

An investigation continues. Troopers say the woman was wearing a seat belt, and that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
