The incoming class at Michigan Tech is the most diverse in the history of the University, based on this fall’s preliminary enrollment figures.
Female enrollment has topped 2,000 for the first time ever and now makes up a record 28.2 percent of the student body.
Also at all-time highs are the number of underrepresented domestic minority students and their proportion of the overall student body.
The incoming class also has an average high school GPA of 3.75, the highest of any freshman class at Michigan Tech in over 25 years.
Overall enrollment at Tech is down slightly, 1.6 percent, with 24 fewer full-time registered students.
