The Copper Country community is invited to the Finnish American Heritage Center on Saturday, March 30 from 2 to 5 p.m. for the inaugural Wellness Fair at Finlandia University. The fair will include more than a half dozen vendors, several no-cost vital sign assessment and educational opportunities, and is free and open to anyone from the community.
Local businesses and organizations who will be attending include Finlandia University Nursing and Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) students, Keweenaw Co-op, CrossFit Hakkapeliitta, Michigan Tech’s Student Development Complex, Melaleuca, Reliv Products, Serenity Massage & Wellness, Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital, UP Health System-Portage and Body Therapy for All.
The vendors will not be selling at the event, but many will provide coupons and samples, including massages. Nursing students from FinnU are offering vital sign assessment and diabetes education. PTA program students will be offering chair massages and comprehensive balance assessments. Refreshments will be served.
