Organizers are calling the 68th Houghton County Fair a great success with four days of beautiful weather bringing huge crowds out each day totaling about $90,000 for admission at the gates, up roughly 5 percent from last year.
The fair spent $41,000 on entertainment. All vendor spaces were rented and vendors reported good selling success. The livestock barns had an increase of animals showing and the still exhibit building was also full with youth and adult entries.
The fair held their first sensory sensitive carnival event on Friday, which was well attended and successful.
The Skerbeck Entertainment Group also reported a record-breaking year for their carnival rides.
